essentially

Tom Wilson, however, was the guy they needed behind the recording console, since Andy couldn't produce to save his life

some thoughts:

I think the person in the song is tired of the world, tired of its complaints, and tired of all the bullshit.

he likes heroin, he likes to do it, but he knows that it will destroy him. when people it all seems pointless and he feels like stopping, his addiction forces him to forget, relate to this alot.

Started a classics run. Hearing this for the first time ever and I can't believe how many modern bands I am hearing on this record.

I am sure of it. It's crazy that even today it sounds so... Idk, it could have been recorded yesterday.
