Why in the world did God give so many jackasses talent? Seriously.
But "Say What You Need To Say" was pretty damn awful. Glad it's not on this album.

As bluesy as this album is, I cannot see it as a 'blues album'. John Mayer still comes across as a poor pop-singer to me. There's something excruciating about his voice. As well-constructed as these songs are, I can't get into them. To me, he's not honest or heartfelt. More self-exalting. John Mayer getting off to John Mayer, at all times. That's his shtick.
If you can get into him, though, I guess I'd recommend this album, seeing as it is his best yet.

I just realised how amazingly solid the melodies are on this album. I think that's one of the things I adore about it; I listen to a lot of albums where the melodies seem in-between ideas, but this just seems so sure of itself in every note.

A painfully overrated guitarist. And some people have the balls to say he his revitalising blues... He makes POP music. Joe Bonamassa is ten times better at guitar and song writing, yet gets hardly any credit compared to Mayer
|
| |
Style-wise, I prefer Mayer over Bonamassa

'Continuum - music by John Mayer'
