i'm probably just going to download it... there are plenty of other, decidedly better albums worth my money right now.

To me this album is great. it's better then the second album they released, getting back to the way of the first album. You have to enjoy this type of music I guess to really enjoy it, but I think it's a superb album

this is really the only norma jean anything i have ever heard. i bought it at random and i'm glad i did, it's like mixing new finch material with new underoath material, great results. i really really like "A Grand Scene for A Color Film"

I got this for my birthday. I've listening a couple times. The first track is real neat but the album is really subpar. They totally sacrificed all the technicality and skill they gained with the last album to make music that would appeal to Underoath scene kids.

i've listened to this cd about 8 times in a row as of right now. they're not any less technical then they were on OGTA. they are slightly more melodic, and i like that. it adds some dynamics. so far this one is becoming probably my second fav. norma jean cd, because it has a good mix between tech. and honest brutal riffage.

my favorite is still btmaktc. people are starting to put way too much emphasis on being technical, sure it sounds cool. but in a way, it takes away from the music and whatever message the band is trying to convey. TOO MANY BANDS are striving to be technical and that is making them all sound exactly the same. so the whole technical thing is starting to bore me to death.

^^^the "technical thing" is great, every band should be technical. at least norma jean knows how to play their instruments.

The best thing about Norma Jean (besides the chaos of their music and marching breakdowns) are the artwork, lyrics and track names of their songs. I don't understand why anyone would want songs to be named the same ol' boring crap you find on other cd's. NJ expresses themselves outside of their music with cool track names, great artwork (grammy nominated) and deep lyrics. That makes them already better than most of the other crap in the genre. This Message Edited On 10.11.06

This cd isn't too bad or great. I miss the old singer though. he gave them a better sound in my opinion.

Ya know, I've always found it best to judge a band based on their music, but I don't know, maybe I'm old fashioned...

I couldn't agree more with combinationofclicks. Btmktc was incredible, the simplicity helps creates the intensity and brutality that the album is. Nothing wrong with technicality, which is great sometimes, but its refreshing to here such simplicity.

This is a good album from what Ive heard, 3.5 sounds bout right, not as good as Bmktc but probably better than O'God.

Also I agree with All4breakdowns. If lyrics, song titles or artwork aren't important why put any effort into it? Yea, the music is the most important aspect but NJ's lyrics put the icing on the cake so to speak.

And the artwork for this album is good but perhaps not as good as O'God.

That's fine and dandy if you buy albums to gawk at the liner notes, but I certainly don't. The only one of those three aspects that actually affects the music are the lyrics, and well, with a band like Norma Jean I can't decipher half the lyrics anyway.

Besides that, the point I was attempting to make was that you can't proclaim a band to be better than most of the genre based on song titles and artwork. That's just ignorance. This Message Edited On 12.09.06

i got this album a few days ago and ive only listend to two tracks but they were pretty awesome. i too was dissapointed that nj had lost the pure technicality that was displayed in oh god though. This Message Edited On 11.17.06

Lots of people keep saying they don't like this genre. What genre is this album classified as exactly?

EDIT: Just saw the huge word "Metalcore" at the top in big bold type. I'm kind of new to these forums heh. This Message Edited On 12.09.06
