Examples? I think most (remasters) I have heard are enhancing the record but yeah some are meant be to left the way they are.

the megadeth remasters are a good example of how remasters can be worse, every single album is just turned up as loud as possible so it loses all dynamic range and sounds like ghr8fhvkrkerf4ghwd

@KILL I hear you on that. While I like louder and fuller mixes I hate when it's turned up as loud as possible, although I don't think RiP sounds bad at all.

I gave to it a first spin yesterday. Not bad, but I wasnt too impressed. I'll see if I can bump it up

or not eventually. While I prefer their post - Maitland era, I consider to 5 Sky Moves Sideways.

Yeah Jethro check out the remaster, the drums sound much better and Wilson has also re-recorded a couple of other parts he wasn't happy with.

Always found this one to be better than TSMS. Burning Sky/Fadeaway may be the best pre-Signify songs Wilson ever wrote.

Such an amazing album.

The three tracks under one minute seem to bear no significance or contribution to the album whatsoever (which was a common trait on the band's debut), but songs such as 'Synesthesia' and 'Fadeaway' show the band maturing and progressing with their sound.

I need to give this another whirl to see if I missed some subtility from it or something.
