After listening to Ratt for a few years now, I have come to realize that DeMartini is essentially the only reason I like them. They do have good backing vocals as well, but aside from that I can't think of much.
The song writing is lacking and Pearcy is very one-dimensional.
DeMartini put together, at an insanely young age as well, some very smooth but sharp riffs that are very difficult not to appreciate. He is a very underrated guitarist from the 80's because he is held back by the rest of the band. Might just be a complacency thing, I don't know.
Love the intro and outros to a bunch of the song son this album. I also think Scene of the Crime is the best song due to the insane solo when the anger crescendos in Pearcy's voice.

DeMartini is far from underrated. He's widely considered to be on par with the other dudes ruling the sunset strip at the same time like Vai, Paul Gilbert, Nuno Bettencourt, Ritche Kotzen, Reb Beach, George Lynch, etc. even though he's a bit less talented and interesting IMO.
