Well I mean it used to have good lineups but it's gotten pretty bad over the last few years, only worth going to get drunk and party now which isn't really worth the ticket prices. I prefer to see band's in small venues anyway.

Heavy metal in its most primal form. Anselmo's voice is a booze-inflicted gruff that fits the bluesy southern metal vibe of self-titled. "Stone the Crow" should have gotten more airplay. I always thought Down would blow up, but they've stayed under the rader all career long. Down II remains my favorite. It's like the bastardized child of their discography...so misunderstood, nahwuhmean?

this is really good, but for some weird reason, although this is quite heavy at times, i enjoy relaxing to this. And that is only a plus of course. Good relaxing metal for me

This is one hell of a masterpiece... LIFER, STONE THE CROW, BURY ME IN SMOKE, HAIL THE LEAF.... just to name few... a supergroup??? no - just few very talented musicians who wanted to sit down, smoke, jamm together, forget about all music business - simply go back to the roots. and they've done it - no doubt this is all time classic. SMOKE AND LISTEN!!!!!!

haha, just listened to this today. It really is one hell of an album. Stone The Crow, Temptations Wings and Lifer are classics, the others - not quite, but they're still all awesome.

yeahhh Metalstyles!!! I'm just listening Down II and I love it. Phil's voice must be the best on this album, (well maybe Cowboys from hell can beat this when it comes to vocals only) but Lysergik Funeral Procession - oh my god..Stained glass cross, hmmmm there's more to come hahaha

Down is simply superb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love Pantera and are a band that really got me into metal, but I tried Down (the most recent album) and really didn't like it. Is this better?

this is the only Down record I've heard, but it's definitely awesome. Took me a few listens to properly get into this though. I'd suggest you give it a go

If you like a mix of Crowbar and Corrosion of Conformity with phil on vocals, then yes, check out this album. It is more straightforward than the other two albums.

Hey TRMshadow here's the answer:

NOLA is totally different from the last album, it's pure, raw southern stoned rock/metal - some say rock some say metal. It will simply blow your head off - if you really love Pantera, you won't be dissapointed. This album is from '95 so Phil screams and sings - overall performs on top level - maybe even better than on Pantera's albums. I think you'll love NOLA.

Like with any prescriptions, take it 2-3 x a day, for at least 5 days - you should feel better - but be careful - this cd is highly addicitive!!
