dear mr. reviewer, you should have probably spent more time listening to the music, not just skipping tracks you don?t like for first twenty seconds before you decide to do a review on it....
Dear shithead , you don't know what you are talking about.
And I wrote this review back in 2003. Eat a dick?

No band has been able to duplicate the emotion and feel of Dirt. Rooster and Down in a Hole are high points, but the album is meant to be listened to front to back. Its an experience.

hahahahaha^.

I saw a funny interview with Jerry where he was on a farm and was acting like a hillbilly. It was quite humorous.

Good job at ripping off the reviewer on Amazon.com. You could of at least tried to conceal it.
Alice in Chains were initially tagged with the "grunge" moniker, when in fact their haunting, ponderous sound was far closer to the progressive rock of Queensryche. Their second album, Dirt, is a moody, portentous affair, filled with occasionally inspired riffing from guitarist Jerry Cantrell and hair-tossed wailing from singer Layne Staley. Perhaps the band got lumped in with Generation X because their lyrics focused upon depression, death, and drugs. Certainly, titles such as "Down in a Hole," "Junkhead," and "Hate to Feel" didn't leave much room for doubt as to Cantrell's perspective. The quartet did have a slightly lighter, almost poppy side to them, though, as "God Smack" and "Hate to Feel" indicate. Ultimately, Dirt is classic angst rock. --Everett True
Whilst i agree with the song descriptions and your love for AIC thats plagiarism and i have no choice but to neg your review.

Junkhead has amazing lyrics. Almost all of the songs are about drugs. The fact that he maybe disguises the fact he's talking about drugs in other songs is totally different from what he's doing in Junkhead, it's not just a really unsubtle song, there's thought into the blatant.

So, is Junkhead like suggesting that you're closed minded if you don't do drugs? or is he just joking? Also, I'm going to have to disagree with you McKagen, I'd say the lyrics are kind of poor. I just don't enjoy them.

Jerry's songs are the best on here.

superb album. i like the bitter mood and raw energy here. 'Junkhead' has always been one of my favs; the chorus is so in-your-face! very underrated.

Layne is also at the top of his game here. the intensity of the mind-blowing chorus-vocals in 'Would' is just amazing! This Message Edited On 05.20.07
