These are the guys that got me back into metal again last year, especially melo death and now I can just basically write off any new releases of theirs as garbage without even listening to it... seriously disappointing.

Yeah it's a copout comment on his part. It's a way of not addressing the complete stylistic departure. It's not that fans want a copy of jester race or whoracle. It's just that we want something that sounds like in flames not breaking Benjamin. Their last couple releases just sound like a band trying so hard to be something they aren't rather than a natural progression

I also wanna add that if it was really true that the fans always just say the latest album is the worst then they wouldn't have heralded CC as a sorta return to form. And i think they peaked with that album sales wise and figured they'd tried to expand on the pop aspects of it. And that's where they're at now

CC had some pretty solid riffing in some songs but the clean vocals are just awful. Reflect the storm and the title track and the take this life chorus are god awful. If the cleans sounded more like they did on colony or clayman it would have been much better than the whiny quality they had on CC
