when i was in fourth and fifth grade i was insane over these guys.....even though now i dont think they are anything over average i still enjoy listening to them occasionally and i do respect their own 'Hybrid' genre that they have created....i did agree with almost all of your review, good job

This is true. This album did get many young people into harder music.
I don't remember when, but in elementary school/early middle school I LOVED linkin park.
Now, I listen to mostly hardcore/metalcore. Linkin Park is.. eh. I think their lyrics are ok. They're too soft and their lyrics are cliche.
But .. regardless, just like blink-182 with the punk scene, LP was a good introductory :]

Wow, lot of LP haters here... This is a realy good album (Grammy Award winning, to be exact). It deserves its praise. Linkin Park has changed into pop princess music and I hate it... but HT is definitely something LP should rather stick to.

In the review it says how Forgotten sounds like a Limp Bizkit song. I was totally jamming to this today (yeah son), and got to Forgotten, and boy does it sound like LB, especially during the main heavy riff where the music briefly pauses and it sounds like Fred Durst goes "Hoo-ha!"

Yeah I was in love with this record when I was 10. I still pop it in occasionally, but I think I grew out of this sound. Somehow listening to LP and Korn makes me feel immature. Deftones still kick ass any day, though.
Electronic drums? So there were no real drums in this release? Thats kinda cheap.

this album deserves nothing less than a 4.in the end is the best nu metal song ever
|
| |
I agree with the first part of your sentence, but In the End nor any LP song are even close for best nu metal song ever. I'd much rather see that title go to a Deftones, old Korn or L.D. 50 song.

7 years ago in 12th grade this album didn't leave my CD player for like 6 months straight. Far and away their best work.

Yea it actually kinda served as a stepping stone into better music for me. I went through more of a hip hop phase in high school. I first got into this because of Mike Shinoda's rap parts, but then I slowly realized that the guitar parts sounded way cooler.
Fast forward 7 years, now most of my buddies give me a worried look when I play music....
"Why is he screaming?"

Don't you love when people say "Why listen to something when you can't understand what they're saying" wha wha wha

Haha...
Sad part is I don't really know what to tell them. It's like trying to explain quantum physics to the short bus kids.

to me, this was one of the first albums I was into. of course, it didn't take that long to realise that there are many much greater bands out there, but I still think this album is quite enjoyable.
