I thought Clayman had the best production of them all.

Hadn't listened to this ages. I forgot how good Evil In A Closet was.

Yeah, the album's not half bad. Im somewhere between a 3 and a 3.5 for this. The first half of the album (tracks 1-7) are great, but all the tracks after seem boring and filler to me. Evil in a Closet and The Quiet Place are the two best here.
This is still In Flames' worst, however.

The production on this is terrible. Listen to TJR for good production.
You obviously don't know what production means.

I like most of the songs on this album but there seems to be too many fillers.

Well, well... i don't agree at all with wikuk's evaluation. This album sucks. And there is just one good track on it : Dial 595 escape (categorized as a "bad" one). This track is one of their best ever.

Yeah it's one of my favourite with colony, pinball map, clayman, reflect the storm, dead end and all the whoracle and reroute to remain albums. I don't have the jester race so I can't tell. But except for dial 595 escape I really think that "soundtrack to your excape" is awful. I was really disappointed when I bought it after the excellent reroute to remain.

Lunar Strain is their best album.
This is not so good. This Message Edited On 01.12.08

I do like Whoracle, The Jester Race and Colony, but Lunar Strain does it for me because it has no Anders. Also because it rules. It makes me wonder what in the world possessed them to make such watered-down crap for the past few albums. But true, the fact that the band is completely different may have had something to do with it.

I know the moonshield (it is on almost all their live) and I've got the video of artifacts of the black rain. They are good ones. Anyway I quoted my favorites songs but there are many others that I do like. I don't have lunar strain either.

Lunar Strain is very different from most of the other albums. And I do agree with you Josh, I liked everything before Colony, Colony included, but everything after disappointed me.

I really like some songs in clayman (bullet, pinball, only for the weak, clayman, another day) but the others are quickly forgotten. That is why i really liked reroute to remain : if you like the style of the album then all songs are equally good, there is no filler

Clayman's first six or seven songs are really good then it trails off into nothing.

You can say the same (my opinion) for "come clarity"

But it is always better than the one (or two with the "famous" ;) evil in a closet) song album "soundtrack to your escape"

Yeah, Clayman is overrated too.
Clayman is my favorite one.

escape familiar home,
the memory remains alone,
reality is trapped inside,
the wicked descend (I hide)

Evil In A Closet is the best song here, especially for us sappy metallers.

I upgrade my rating after a few more listening of this album. it is not so bad after all : quiet place, my sweet shadow, evil in a closet, in search for i, bottled and the famous dial 595 escape are really good
