My EP ("Sowing") version of this would be:
1. The Elevator
2. Come Down Soon
3. All Comes Down
4. Drunk, Running
5. Broken Glass
now that's at least a 4.0

Doesn't get much better than this when it comes to sadgirl indie folk for me. Love the melancholic yet somehow upbeat vibe to this album. Just really consistently excellent for me.
Just another example of me really loving an album a lot of people find to be "mid" lol.

How much bm influence is there?

Just a little tad. She can Lizzy McScream her ass off like Dani Filth.

> 90% of these indie girls go with the subtle erotic covers when their album is sub-par and dull. I'm sorry but that's how it is most times. Hot cover = mid album (unless you are called Diana Krall)
you seem to have a knack for making ill-advised generalizations

Lowered my rating for this. It's pretty and nice lyrically, but I just can't get behind the lack of anything interesting going on musically.

Nah Shadow, I just know capitalism and its ways, and I first hand know the music industry (although this is done everywhere nowadays). It's coming out anyway, plenty of female artists are confesing that marketing advisors, or producers, or (insert male person (90% of the time) with the capacity to "recommend" strategies to a female artist) recommending to them the "show boobs" way, or be sexualized to sell, sell $ell.
Then of course you have America the land of the "free" (to sell yourself for $) promoting the sexualization of female artists from very young ages (Miley, Ariana, Demi, Selena...), normalizing in the collective consciouness that you have to be "sexualized" at some point to reach success.
Just a few days ago Sidney Sweeney made a joke about it (Plan B: Show boobs). It's funny when it's told as a joke, but in reality it's a huge problem that sadly affect how women see success in certain industries. Of course you have to diguise all of this in the name of freedom, but I'm not buying it, sorry.
Now as I stated in my og post I'm not saying it's ALWAYS like this, and I don't know what motivated Miss McAlpine to use that cover, but I do know many other female talents are prompted to sexualize themselves for success.
I'm now going to listen to some Patricia Barber, one of the greatest female artists of all time (sadly overlooked), and one I would recommend to anyone who loves music. Best regards
