What is the fucking production on this my god. Also the dynamics and songwriting are just....not good. This falls under an umbrella I like to call trust fund metal. This isn't an evidence based description I use, you just somehow kinda feel it.

Really? My sound system made it worse! Sound treated room with MA Silver 500 speakers, dual Emotiva subs, FM711 hand-wired amp, Saga+ preamp and Topping DAC running the lossless files through usb-c from my phone.
Sounded better on my Sony headphones. Never a good sign.

Archspire might be hypersqueakyclean but at least there's some (not much), but some breathing room in their production. This album is just too much of everything, all smushed into a tight space and flattened out like a cotton shirt under a hot iron.
