Lol for sure, but I understand why there's something polarizing to it. It's extremely dense and maybe even overstuffed with ideas to some but the production seems to be the big gripe with it, it's definitely uhhhh modern death metal production lol. Idk I can hear everything fine within it.

Me too. No problem with the production.

I normally hate this type of production for most albums but it feels right here.

Production is definitely quite a bit worse than most. And normally, I could tolerate it at the very least. This album just rubs me in all the wrong places, even I though I usually eat this stuff right up.

i mean its not my favourite but thats why osdm is king

The guitar tone on some of these passages is just absolutely ridiculous, it's like 100 HM2 chained together and I love it

The Orb knows. I'm not usually this sensitive to brick-walled, over-stuffed, glossy modern shitfests like this - as in despite a botched (imo) job I can usually at least tolerate it for the greater good of those sweet riffs
...but man this is so cluttered and synthetic sounding, it's difficult to sit through without hovering my finger over the 'off button'

Smok once again calling something "core" that has no trace of any type of core lmao. Modern dm = deathcore in Smok's mind. I get not digging the production and shit but give me a break lol.

bruh no modern dm = modern dm without any trace of core. the first track of this the only core thing about it is the vox, then their background gets steadily more apparent from there
idk how after listening to metal for so long u cant distinguish the core from the metal but if ur struggling just remember if some core lover like that coma kid likes a supposedly pure dm album then its bc its full of core real dm is kyptonite to them

Yes I've been listening to metal long enough to know there is no core in this in any capacity. Overproduced doesn't equal core lol. Compare this to a shit band like Oceano or even a great deathcore band like All Shall Perish, there are 0 similarities. Get ur ears czeched Smokster.

bruh its not the production the new suffy has the same prod and its real (if underwhelming) dm
afaik all shall perish (garbo band) have never prodded like this but if they did and wanted to get techy youd get the latter half of this album
btw im not saying its full out core its a bastardized hybrid between modern techy dm and derpcore id have it at a 1.5 if it was full
like holy shit locked in thine 1:50 onwards for example is pure derpcore how do u not hear it lol
|

Damn even Sm0k getting into genuine genre debate in the thread this must be some potent stuff

Ulcerate have post-metal influence
post-metal was atmo-sludge once
atmo-sludge derived from trve atmo-less sludge
sludge wouldn't exist without hardcore punk
therefore Ulcerate are core
checkmate losers
