yeah it’s just ok.
Mortiferum does this style much better imo. this falls into the death/doom trap of just plodding along with no groove and occasionally breaking it up with some blast beats here and there.
it’s strangely riffless too. i get that it’s “atmosphere building” but I gotta have something else to grab on to for a 45 minute runtime.

Mortiferum good af too but damn if there isn't good space for both. Spectral is way more atmospheric, agreed, the buildings are amazing for the riffs (yap not riffless at all). There's also some vicious leads and almost a funeral doom vibe here and there. That can explain they touring with Esoteric. It definitely fits with the vibe.

idk guys ive listened to this all the way through 4 times now and I just cannot find anything to latch onto. it falls into all the traps that hamstring this style and does little to elevate itself beyond some decent atmosphere building.
