It's amazing how well the s/t tracks lend themselves to this format. Both of my favorites come off there.

I respect what they're going for, but this just made me want to listen to the originals

yeah, and also served as a reminder that Hammock's creativity has been waning for some time now

Yall 2 and below people being hella dramatic. I get hating something, but nothing about this warrants something that harsh.

yeah that doesn't answer the question at all, you're just calling people ridiculous instead of dramatic now, but ok

Genuinely lost as to why this isn't clicking for me. But it is good as background music. I like Yellowcard and I like post-rock. It just feels... unimaginative?

2 and below seems dramatic tho yeah, i've never heard a purely ambient album I've put below a 2.5 - ambient as a genre is rarely bad, it's usually at worst background music that's pleasant to hear around the house.

A 3.7 from me when it comes to this band might've been a red flag for some. I like it, but it's definitely not the most creative. The vocals/melodies/inflections seem virtually unaltered besides slowing down the tempo and Hammock's music is pleasant but basic. I think this would've been a better pairing to work on new music because then they'd be forced to explore new terrain rather than just glazing over existing melodies. All that said, I like the original tracks and this is still nice enough, even if it's kind of tepid.

Yeah I would've probably preferred brand new songs. "only one" without the melodrama feels empty.
