I always felt that Roger was the creative fire behind Floyd's writing that made their music really interesting for me. Even when he REALLY started going off the rails around the time of The Final Cut, the album was absolutely perfect and I will gladly die on that hill.

That said, this was completely unnecessary. I have no desire to listen to this. Roger desperately needs help.

^ The way I've always seen it: Roger was the conceptual/lyrical force, and David was the musical/compositional force. Then again, I already know you and I disagree regarding The Final Cut. That's easily one of my least favorite Floyd albums, lol

"When you look at the world around us, clearly the message hasn't stuck. That's why I started to consider what the wisdom of an 80 year old could bring to a reimagined version."

You're not incorrect I guess. When I say songwriting I guess I am thinking lyrical content, when in reality it is a hybrid of lyrical content plus musical composition. When I was REALLY, REALLY into floyd a couple decades ago, I was more interested in the lyrical content of the music, and that's what made everything they did in the 70s top shelf for me.

But you're right, David probably had more of a hand in the actual music-writing process than I've ever given him credit for. And I haven't researched it a whole lot but I'm sure at times, Nick and Rick were just as important too.

I will always love Floyd. I never mean any disrespect to any member, they've given us everything. But like i said, I will happily die on the hill of TFC being one of their best albums :D

What the fuck was he even rattling on about? I would've taken this more seriously if he would've just zipped his lips to let the music tell the story...then again, most of the reimagining here is a bit too watered down and lacks the life the original had.

@Voivod

The funny thing is, Dark Side is the one album that Roger Waters cannot legally claim ownership of, because Nick Mason has a writing credit on Speak to Me. I'm fairly confident that's partly why he made this remake.

This is the second worst Pink Floyd-related album of all time (and the worst one wasn't even made by a member of PF, lol)

Koris you mean the nostalgia critic thing? should I watch that and refer to it as “The Wall” like I’m going to with this?
