Yeah, it sounds like biased advice but honestly this is one of the biggest growers of 2023. Took me several listens before it clicked on a full scale and not just appreciation of a few cool moments.

Also, as good as Veer and Reedcutter both are, I absolutely haven't been able to forget Sapphirine lately.

Same. These guys are so good, even the few things I didn't like in the past (Like No Matter How Narrow) I've come around to.

I think this is on par with Shrine tbh. It's different, but not a step down.

Imo the high points of shrine are a tad higher than those on this but this has a higher and more consistent floor given it's shorter length. may ultimately give shrine the edge but def agree this isn't a step down.

A month ago that woulda been a spicy take but honestly I'm coming around to feeling the same, although recency bias might be at play. Sowing was spot on about this being a grower. It keeps getting better every time I hit play.

Yeah, it's a grower. I think this is on par with their EPs but still see shrine as their best work.

Been doing a big dive on them.

Varuna, his old branches and cartographer > Shrine as well

Shrine still kicks ass though.

Revisiting today, this ep is so damn good. Wish they just called it an album so it could have been even more hyped.

Also, after the ep, spotify started playing suggested music and its first pick was The World is a Beautiful Places new single. Republic of Wolves touring with TWIABP would work SOOOOO well.

That would indeed be a magnificent tour.

Always felt the same way about the EPs. His Old Branches, The Cartographer, and this are all just a song or two away from being full-lengths, and LPs tend to get more coverage and, justified or not, seem to go a longer way in solidifying the legacy of a discography. But at the end of the day, all that matters is that we keep getting awesome new music from these guys.
