Just wanna give a shout-out to Garbology, the collab album between Aes and longtime producer Blockhead (Float, Labor Days, None Shall Pass). A reunion after like 14 years and I don’t want folks to sleep on it bc it’s categorized under a different name ( (Aesop Rock x Blocked on Sputnik). While I don’t personally think it lives up to recent studio albums it is still absolutely worth jamming.

Garbology was alright but it honestly just made me want to spin Float again more than anything

Garbo is really good and sorta grew on me. Jazz Hands is top tier. The whole thing is pretty consistent. I like Legerdemain a lot, as well.

Hmmm on first listen I thought this was pretty great but getting diminishing returns. Probably his worst in a while

For me it’s currently Spirit World > This > Garbology

Worst is a stretch. I like it better than his collabs with homeboy sandman or mailbu ken. Unless you just want to count his solo stuff then I'd come more around to the idea.

This is probably his funniest since Bestiary. The backend hasn't done anything for me yet, feel like I need to dial in on the lyrics. Some awful fucking hooks lol no surprises, but salt and pepper squid goes hard in that respect

Oh and billy woods is a God and Kyanite Toothpick goes off and, uh, why does the Rob Sonic song kinda suck

Kyanite Toothpick might be my favorite. Love that R.E.M reference

Almost made me grin as hard as i did when he referenced Hawkwind in Zero Dark Thirty
