This was very enjoyable listen. Spider Bites and Little Fires are my favourites so far, but The Weatherman is really pretty too.

I like this a lot more than I expected to. Love the warmth of the production.

So I have tried listening to Gaslight Anthem before and have casually enjoyed but never got real into them. I even saw some of their live show at Riot this year. I'll give this one a shot.
Really great review btw sunny [even tho it starts off with you showing off]

Appreciate the kind words, Feather!
I wouldn't say this album is an ideal entry point to this band, but it's also far from inaccessible, so curious to hear your thoughts.

Hearing Springsteen sing with Fallon on History Books is giving me chills. So glad these guys are back.

I'd say a 3.8 is basically spot-on for this album. def feels like a 4 during the stronger tracks

"I wouldn't say this album is an ideal entry point to this band, but it's also far from inaccessible, so curious to hear your thoughts."
@Sunny gave this one listen through so far and found it very pleasant, but definitely see what you mean here. It definitely sounds like a late career comfort album that I would appreciate much more being a fan of their likely more adventurous/rambunctious (assumption) back-catalogue.
"michigan 1975 is so good goddamn. one of their best"
This was definitely the standout for me

if thats the song you liked the most, check out the horrible crowes - elsie. brian's best album and that song feels like it could come from that
that said it's not really in line with his more uptempo material (but does have a surprising amount of teeth in a few places)

Elsie is definitely the best thing Brian has done yeah

Sweet, adding it to my playlist, thanks for the rec

Yo are we listening to the same album?
This was lifeless and boring and has zero hooks.
This coming from someone that quite enjoyed Handwritten and Get Hurt back in the day. The seem to have lost all the aspects of their music that originally attracted me to the band.

Pretty let down by this record, it almost seems to not exist while existing. Wish he would do another Crowes album but I'm a little nervous he doesn't have that much songwriting power left in him to make it happen.
