After reading the review, I totally get the appeal of this, but it just isn't hitting me at all.
Other than the clearly out there stuff like TOKYO DUB STORY, SORA TAPI WATASHI TAPI (bird talk), and the closer Linda ReLinda, a lot of this kinda went in one ear and out the other, I kept finding songs in the 2.5-3 range.
I wonder if it'd be different if I understood Japanese since the album is apparently quite political, but I guess when it comes to albums in languages I don't understand, the lyrics are kind of a non-factor
2.7/5?

The lyrics and translations are on the bandcamp page.
This was my most listened to album of last year, and it grew on me hard.

tbh i would have expected most detractors to find this too obnoxious, but not too toothless. darn you Ars and your erudition in all ways bizarro, where even Anochi is too average
but respect the opinion, at least you did try

also, yeah. the lyrics are in english on Bandcamp, but one'd have to dig for that. not sure why they aren't trying to appeal to broader international masses and make their promotion easier for everyone.

For my 3rd listen of this, I’ll read all the English lyrics as I go
Toothless isn’t what I’d say, just not engaging to me on a personal level?

Reading that article while I'm up to track 9
"John Lennon is not here
Though John isn’t here
Imagine lives on with me"
This would be a much sweeter sentiment if John Lennon wasn't basically a fraud on the peace stuff and an abuser, but I guess the lyricist probably doesn't know that
---
His insistence that this isn't an anti-war/protest album in the article seems dubious, but he keeps saying it is in the interview. Then again, I wonder how much of the lyrics are lost in this translation
Okay...whatever generic take on AI hurting artists. I mean he's right enough but not really any new insights
It's cool that a lot of it was inspired by spending time with Ainu culture
Okay, finished the article and I'm on closer for the 3rd time, reading the translated lyrics and interview interspersed:
I'll bump this to a 3 for an appreciation of that, but I still don't care for most of this musically. TOKYO DUB STORY and Linda ReLinda are the closest to grabbing me, but even then I'm not not feeling it still
