"I have the motor skills and rythm of a drunken monkey haha"

lol, everyone is a novice at first, but with practice, you get better. Playing and knowing the basic fundamentals of a guitar isn't really that hard. In fact, I think of the electric guitar as one of the easiest instrument to play as long as you know how to strum a few chords. It's when you want to go further deeper that guitar gets really hard to master.

It is certainly one of my biggest dreams and one of the top things I plan to do once I get some more free time in my life (after I finish Uni prolly)

haha sure will :]

I've always wondered if I should go for a left-handed guitar (and deal with the higher price and fewer tutorials available) or accept this world's right handed dictatorship

If you are a lefty, do not make any attempt at forcing yourself to play right handed guitars. It will take you time to absorb the tutorials and it will also be a frustration for your mind. When you come around to it, do a little research first. Left handed guitars are more rare to find but they are not all that expensive. You can still find your preferred model, all you have to do is a little more extra research.

I'd like to pick up on guitar one of these days. I have to do left-hand since I'm a lefty myself though.

Also, tutorials are not based on which hand you're using. It really doesn't make any difference. The techniques and the all the basics are practically the same.

Strike, you wouldn't believe how many peolple i've met who want to start learning guitar and won't do it for stupid reasons imho. "I don't have time, i have zero talent, i don't know how to practice".

And i bet most of these guys won't do it because they're just lazy. (Not pointing at you MrLord)

Make no mistake guys it takes time and effort to learn. You must dedicate yourself. That's why most people don't give it a go. Because they have to commit.

Yeah I've heard those reasons before. Truth is you can't be talented at guitar if you don't practice. lol

I've been a bit apprehensive picking up on it because of my neighborhood. I get away with my electronic drums, but I've had noise complaints about my previous acoustic set.

Yeah, i know, if you want to be a drummer it's difficult to find a place to practice. Noise complaints are always an issue especially for drummers.

I've been playing on and off the past 10 years ish, but noise complaints have always held me back. This past year and half since switching to electronic drums, however, were probably the best thing for me. I also met up with some musician friends who have a couple good places to play with regular drums too, and we're working on starting up a band.

Get some of those foam things to put on your drums

@Source it doesn't work on electronic drums. I did use them for my acoustic kit before I sold it, but it didn't do enough because the houses in the community are pretty close together. If you've seen one of those mobile home communities, then that should give you a good idea.

Yeah...

Thankfully one of my buddies is a drummer himself and has kits set up in his studio so I wouldn't have to drag my electronic drums back and forth. The only thing would be to switch some stuff over because of the whole lefty thing.
