"I think if these albums were made by another band they wouldn't be criticized that much, people are not used to bands changing their sound"

Good point. Who Do We Think We Are is Deep Purple MK II material but most people tend to prefer Burn even though it wasn't released during Purple's "classic" period. Personally, I enjoy H&H for what it is rather than comparing it to previous stuff.

Most people who like their first 6 like this and Mob Rules too. I've given both albums a 4.

Sometimes I think that the fans of the first 6 albums dont like this (or Mob Rules) only cause it has a different, non doomy and more traditional heavy metal sound, it doesn't riff that hard, yeah, but the solos are probably better in here, the vocals are obviously better and the lyrics are almost on pair with the classics

I don't like this as much as any of their first 6 because I don't like Sabbath playing this style as much as I like them playing their earlier 'original' sound. So in some ways you're right. This kind of NWOBHM-eque style metal doesn't interest me as much as their earlier sound which was much more exciting.

Understandable argument for me

Certainly is understandable, but this was a major recovery from an abyss of mediocrity.

Maybe even better than Priest's recovery in 1990.

This and Mob Rules are better than Painkiller agreed

But both this and Painkiller sure revived their respective bands very efficiently.

Yup. Brave New World too was a fine return to form.

Indeed it was, though the abyss wasn't quite as deep as Priest's,

Not as "dark" as Sabbath classic lyrics, but it's still way better than what Sabbath did with their last 2 albums

Personally I embrace Dio's lyrical style. It seems still fresh thirty plus years later despite all the imitators.
