Yea, I edited my comment to include that before I saw you two post...

(My previous one about Ozzy shaping Sabbath that is)
South you were greeing with me. That is what I was saying. Ozzy did more for Sabbath in terms of setting them apart.

Singing wise comparing the two is the equivalent of comparing:

Whitney Houston and :insert slayers lead singer:

It's rather absurd.

Yea, the fact that Tom is a better vocalist than her...

Seriously.

I've actually heard quite a few good things about this album, which makes me wonder why I don't own it yet...This Message Edited On 08.15.06

This is my favorite Sabbath album, hands down. Dio's voice carries them to a level Ozzy couldn't.

Yea I guess Dio wins in the technical department. But that doesn't make him better.

Good review, I read it through and saw not one single negative point... so why...... a 4.5? This is one of 3 Sabbath albums deserving of a 5/5.

Ozzy has an awful voice, I can't listen to Ozzy-era Black Sabbath a lot. While I am a big fan of Dio's work.

You know, I've been debating back and fourth between the 5/5. I might change it, I'm still unsure. The only real negatives are it's pretty short, and then the whole taboo of it being an Ozzy-less album, but I guess that's technically only one minor flaw. I think I will make it 5/5, I listened to it again last night and it's really freaking awesome, hah.

I've been a major Sabbath fan as far back as memory takes me. Although Ozzy may not be the best singer, there is no disputing that he was the voice of Black Sabbath. Listen to Sabotage or Never say Die and I don't think you can argue that Ozzy was capable of some very solid vocal performances. I don't believe that Dio could have pulled off Symptom of the Universe or Johnny Blade as well as Ozzy. Dio is a great vocalist. I am a follower from his days in Rainbow, but you are comparing apples and oranges.

I wasn't comparing them at all.

Dio can sing, Ozzy can't.

My reviewing this would be no different than if someone who was totally gaga for Ozzy were to have reviewed it, I'm just giving the other side of the argument.

Dio is better then Ozzy at singing but Ozzy is the F*cking prince of darkness! without him Sabbath went downhill.

I dont think they went downhill, it's a matter of opinion. This is one of the only Sabbath albums I can constantly listen to all the way through.

How can you say Sabbath went downhill without Ozzy when Heaven and Hell was and still is one of their best selling albums ever?

Well...it very hard to say how is(was) better singer for B.S.
I like B.S. with Ozzy and i like B.S. with Ronnie But without doubt Ronnie is a better singer if we talk about voice range etc.

Sabbath has been on a downward slide since their first release. It has nothing to do with the lead singer.

Yes! In fact that's the best Sabbath cover I've heard. But then SA are amazing.
