So far, I like every song...and I don't *love* any of the songs. I think over their career, Sevendust has gotten more consistently good in recent years, but the magical moments that stun me are more rare. Part of it is that there's so much they've already done that it's harder for a moment to stun me when it reminds me of something else amazing they've already done.
And because of that, "I Might Let The Devil Win" is SUCH a surprise as an opening track that it definitely has my attention the most of anything right now. I don't know if the climax of the song QUITE puts it over the top to be something I love, but the vibe of the song to open the record certainly makes an impression.

A fantastic opener, for sure.

this is their best album solely because they mixed lajon's voice right so you don't hear his "S"s peaking at a chalkboard pitch every single word
such a tiny little flaw is enough to mar an entire discography, really once you notice it you can't stop

I'm going to erase this message from my memory, so I don't share this marring.

i don't care for this style at all, honestly it just kinda blows in general, but "fence" was such a good song that i gave this a go. sadly it's pretty boring.

"So we have Sevendust again, releasing another obviously derivative album, with the catchiest alt metal riffs, making similar bands sound like dog poop. "
derivative may not mean what you think it means
I need to check this. 7D has a special place in my heart for the Home / Animosity era.

“derivative may not mean what you think it means”
I used the word intentionally cuz I know exactly what it means, thank you very much.

these guys are remarkably consistent, catchy, heavy, and I like listening to them here and there. But the full albums front-to-back can get boring and samey

Seasons is the more boring album 4 me, minus a few bangers

Some of this sound almost exactly to All I See Is War. That's a good thing because that album is awesome. But is a bad thing because sounds uninspired.
Not a bad album, but I expected more i guess.

Seasons was a weird one for me when it dropped. I was head-over-heels in love with Animosity and it seemed like they were trying way too hard for hit singles on that one. Still some fuckin killer songs on it though, and monster choruses.
