This is absolutely top drawer. It’s Aphex Twin still doing the business. Clueless bunch of slags.

Overrated/“electronic for people who don’t like electronic”-core but it’s very good and fun yeah

Most electronic music I've found in recent years hadn't even been included in the database so far. Sometimes I wonder about people who have a small handful of electronic "classics" in thousands of ratings from artists they otherwise apparently couldn't care less about. Perhaps too much of its "own world" like classical music or Jazz.

God right I hate when I ask a girl wearing a warp records shirt to name her top 10 acid house albums and she's all like are you okay you look really pale and tense

"i have no point of reference for electronic critique"-core take away. virtually any electronic enthusiast or musician will tell you Blackbox Life Recorder 21f / In A Room7 F760 is regarded as ahead of its time, a masterpiece, and that Aphex Twin himself was an underrated master-musician/prodigy if anything (a sentiment echoed by some of his highest profile peers including people like Tycho) . being a good gateway to a genre does not diminish an albums merits. and tbh i don't even really agree with the sentiment that its a good gateway album to begin with.

To be honest a look into who-worked-with-whom and artists referencing each other reveals that the pool of publically relevant electronic releases beyond four-on-the-floor over time is much smaller than one might expect.

i genuinely dont have beef with anyone on this site except for a few users who honestly havent posted here in years. im just always gonna defend my pov as hard as i can because like, isnt that the point of this site?

i can understand not liking aphex twin i guess but he's responsible for several indisputable classics of the genre for a reason. my aphex hot take is that RDJ album is far and away his worst effort. i like everything syro and after much more than that one.

idk if this is much better or worse than ICBWD, but otherwise honestly based. those two rly do be an awkward transitional phase
