"What other than Clanton's blend of 80s poptimism and 2010s hauntology could provide the same level of nostalgia to two different generations in 2023? "
way too many actually

Oh I missed the “in 2023” qualifier of that statement, that changes things actually, its gone a bit out of style

enjoying the slower songs in the middle of the album, a nice surprise. album felt a lil diluted until this point even tho i like all of those songs still. so far doubting i end up liking this more than Slide but we will see, i also like slide more than 100% electronica

If there is one fact I will never forget about you it’s that you like slide better than 100% electronics, don’t worry

I also like slide more than 100% electronics but neither is like mind-blowing, kinda gentrified sound imo but he do be talented

100% Electronica is a massively formative album for me that I resonated with emotionally for like 2 years straight and bumped in my whip daily for near as long as well, Slide is a decent album that I listened to in full like 4 times

There isn’t a single song on Slide that is as catchy as anything on Electronica imo. This has I Been Young which is almost as catchy as something on Electronica

livin loose, make it forever, and dumb were in my rotation for a long time, theyre prob the only tracks on slide that are as catchy and earwormy as electronica. its definitely nowhere near as consistent as 100%

yeah i agree with Ryus that I'd put Livin Loose and Make it Forever up there. There's that one heavily reverbed guitar note in Make it Forever that rings out before the main break comes in that's a certified ...fuk

I also really like Monster off of Slide

Re punching down (someone seemed perplexed by the lyrics earlier)

I didn’t listen super closely but is he not just singing from the perspective of a high school bully or something like that?
