Not sure if you'll completely fall for this band's shtick or not, but they've some essential songs at minimum for an indie guy like yourself. Suburban Light is a good starting point.

This is extremely pleasant. I love that it fearlessly experiments, but I think it occasionally overdoes the strings in a bid for elegance that doesn't add much. Could easily see those moments growing though.
