ooh yes, between this and Chepang it's definitely time for grind. I rather like decent portions of this. Especially some of the noise-saturated / cyber-explosions or whatever. The closer is an absolute hoot and possibly the perfect conclusion that I didn't think I wanted or needed until it happened

I like it when I’m listening to it but I can’t remember a single thing about it once it’s over.

Giving me callous daoboy vibes on repeated jams. Liking it more and more with repeated jams tbh.

I normally have a pretty hard time remembering grind albums but a few listens in i started realizing almost every track has a little something that sets it apart for me, I was removing random songs from the track order and noticing like "hey where did that one cool part go" almost every time

yeah, second listen took this up a notch for sure
Meridian Verge is incredible. This has impressive spacing for grind, I think those occasional 'interludey' linking passages are bizarrely quite welcome. 27 mins could be a chore if everything was as batshit as the more intense moments.

almost seems strange to question the length in the context of Chepang's behemoth existing (and succeeding may I add), yet I still think 27 minutes of this could be overbearing in the wrong hands. Fortunately this is very well executed.

fs fs pacing here is tight af, skybox all the way through real home got craaaazy momentum, and the closer works so great as a closer

This has brilliant pacing whereas Chepang’s has none. Still like it tho.

pacing was easily my least favourite part of this tbh, kept on stalling mid-rush. haven't started bingeing it yet, so we shall see
Chepang is an incredibly convenient litmus test for people capable of telling the difference between some fast noises and other fast noises

Chepang has wonderful pacing sides A-C, smh (and D is erm not unwelcome in the context of the previous offerings)

Yeah I don’t have a problem with grind or cybergrind but I think maybe it’s the pacing that’s kneecapping this. Just doesn’t hit like World Extermination does for me.

I wasn't sure what mood I wanted to approach getting to this in but yeah midway through this is wild as hell. in true ada fashion i'm hitting sensory overload at times but that's prob just a me issue. but yeah noticing the really janky pacing tbh.
EDIT: At the end, Portal Zero is the highlight, the blackened skramzy type sound(?) at the end is something I'd love to hear Rook delve into more.
