"western cum" as a title definitely twigged a few synapses but it would be a tragedy not to give cowboy opeth a listen

"Western Submarines the Size of Sardines" would have been a better album title mayhaps

Nice, wasn't totally sure this would be your thing but I think it's a must listen for anyone who checks recent country aligned stuff

It's reminiscent of like early Neil Young, which I am not too into, but I dig the guitars a lot and def want to listen more

It definitely owes a lot to Neil Young and acolytes like J. Mascis but I also think it does have a contemporary edge and as Boney pointed out the more forward looking Jim O'Rourke is a key influence.
It gets a little more psychedelic than the majority of the output from those three too, plus it has some indie rock touches from time to time.
At points it seems really retro but then something comes along that mixes it up.

Yeah I agree with that, it feels like a modern take on 70s country rock

sounds straight out the 70’s yeah. such a nice tune, could’ve fooled me as a classic

listening to this and then going back to the last Wand record made me remember just how damn lovely it is. "housefly" and "driving through heaven" are jams.

Just tried the last ‘Wand’ album yesterday and that’s great too - bit more sprawling but the high points were similar quality to those here

Woke up with that first main riff from “Driving Through Heaven” stuck in my head. That’s gotta be a good thing…

Been really digging this, great find Doof. Perfect description of the riff in "Persuasion Architecture." Love how this manages to be diverse in genre while maintaining a consistent atmosphere. Going with a 4 for now but I can see it going up with more listens.
