Second spin and this is clicking big time. The Beggar Lover (Three) might be my new favorite Swans song. Unforming, The Beggar, Ebbing, and The Memorious are also all amazing. It's not out of the question for this to rise to a vastly different but totally equal level to The Seer for me.

I’d be foolish to rate this album after one listen, The Seer took a long time to hit, but that first listen yesterday was not encouraging in the slightest. I feel this one is going to take even longer before I know how I really feel about it.

I thought this was every bit as interesting as The Seer. Not as overtly exciting, but unfurling in gorgeous and at times unsettling layers. Also, after hearing the full album twice, whoever said this is his Blackstar hit the nail on the head.
