I agree that pantera is overrated, but dime is a top soloist

I like the cemetery gates solo and LOVE the Floods solo, even the one on This Love is solid even though that song is pretty dogshit otherwise
Even the GOATs drop a dud sometimes (tbc I don't think Dime is the GOAT but y'know he's part of that conversation)

Floods solo is an absolute alltimer. by far my fav Pantera song in general
just remembered that GROOV METL is now sput canon and that the genre list is on hand o no time to jam this ig

I recommend checking Lamb of God VII instead it has two very fun songs which is one more than this has plus a chino feature and a Greg puciato feature

'Listening to this record's about as fun as getting a lobotomy, and has about the same end result' (2)
and can we legitimately 1/5 this? Nice. I forgot where the threshold for 1 vs 1.5 was.
Note: also, I think if something eclipses 4.3 you can't go lower than a 2.0.

It's telling that (almost) the only apparent redeemable features of this album any Pants airier fan seems capable of conjuring up is... a) it's popularity at the time b) it's influence (of mostly bad music) and c) the fact it's heavy 'as balls' and confrontational... wow, that's a undisputable formula for a truly timeless classic right there, no doubt about it

“Yeah probably. Pantera's an easy target for sure. I think what disgusts me most outside of all that is all the imagery that Sonoma pointed out. I think if you take Phil out this is probably a 2.5 tier groove album. Still below some of the best stuff from like Machine Head (which, Robb isn't perfect, but he seems like a nicer guy to hang around).”
It’d be funny if had Pantera not existed and, instead, a band that would take us even further into bro-rrito-dew territory had formed
