I'm a little mad it's so good cuz now I'll never escape my shadow lmao but on the flipside green baron will never escape being greenlinkinmuse

i mean you were a an obsessed teenager we all went through those kinds of phases (or most of us anyway), and yeah it beats the horrible bandnamesstitchedtogether types (looking at you greenlinkinmuse, metallicopeth, thewondersofar). only one to escape from it being annoying to look at is porc but thats cause he's a g. still the worst username in history might be lpftw (linkinparkforthewin).

^ i dunno, NeutralThunder climbs the list the more i think about it (list isn’t big to begin with, though most of our usernames aren’t exactly amazing)

hi progmaster

Decent album but no Converge
|

I don't think anyone expected this to be better than Converge who are pretty much the godfathers of metallic hardcore. I would pretty much compare them to Rolo Tomassi and I think this is pretty comparable to their newer album.

Tbf, hearing Mirrors, I thought their next LP would be a You Fail Me / Jane Doe calibre crusher

@Sint: I mean it's annoying when I'm trying to move on from that and people are still like hey arent you that person that sucked off A7X all the time? lol but yeah I get that.

Band name makes me retch but damn this album slaps! cheeks!

band name is great because it actually makes me wince, which I shall assume was their intention and thus makes it genuinely 'edgy' in my book for managing to provoke a reaction in me.
And yeah, I'm enjoying this - very different to Mirrors, a well executed evolution. I do have the odd quibble with some of the clean vox and the prod (even if relatively minor), but otherwise this is rather satisfying.

Strong 3.5 upon first listen.
Not everything works on this, but there is so much good stuff going on that it doesn't matter. I think this will grow on me. It's been a while since I listened to Mirrors, but I'm happy this wasn't just Mirrors 2.0. The melodic/atmospheric stuff balances out the mayhem well.

yeah, I really appreciate the atmospheric passages, even if they kinda wear out their welcome at times. No Temple and the title track are the real highlights for me here, the former especially. now that's a song that just slonks your shit.

There was some water cooler talk of this band in a Johnny Booth thread and I am intrigued
Will check

Ok this may be a metallic hardcore album I like, tbh I really dont like the cleans on this but I'm atleast glad they put in the effort to add some type of hooky melodic moment to the songs. A problem I have with a lot of this type of music is that it will often prioritise riffing and will rarely have melodic hooky moment in the songs.
