The deathcore vocals and chug sections mar this some. The hardcore shouts especially don't necessarily gel with some of the guitars stylistically, to my personal taste anyway. Maybe it's a bit overproduced as well? Definitely some cool stuff happening here though. Doesn't really touch the bands name dropped in comparison imo. The guitars are the star for me.

What do you mean by surprassing the debut? Are we all counting Nightmare Withdrawals as debut?

The vocals are one of the best parts of this in my opinion, pure DM grunts would have knocked it down quite a bit for me, the vocals here have way more personality than a lot of other current DM bands.

There are a lot of ways to do vocal variety that aren't necessarily this. I would love some vox with phlegm. And drums that aren't produced like every deathcore band's drums. Probably gonna 3.5 this though.

Well! Would you set your discog as it is here? Are we missing something? What was the big step up (imo) to Nightmare Withdrawals, from a deathcory to a more dissonant experimental sound?
Amaaazing album again guys. Tk you so much

Funnily enough, quite a few people do consider Nightmare Withdrawals as our debut. However, it is our third and Rejecting Obliteration is our fourth. Nightmare Withdrawals did indeed set out to be something completely different and to take the band in a new direction, not so much musically, but in a sense of taking things more seriously and professionally.
I cannot comment too much on the pre-Nightmare Withdrawals days as I joined after the release of Modern Adoxography.

However, Nightmare Withdrawals and Rejecting Obliteration are reflections on us, our surroundings and the stuff we were going through rather than an intention to be a particular style or genre.
I think this shows in the NW is really chaotic, with small gasps of air and RO is more emotive, and has chaos and darkness but also moments of uplifting resiliency and hope.

This really draws me to your bands sound and sets you guys apart, saw a video of you guys addressing suicide and mental health in the video for Hallucinative Terror and wanted to say I think that's awesome. I personally really appreciate the melodic hopeful moments you mentioned. Keep at it, you guys destroy.

No I only meant they have come a long way from the debut and have clearly surpassed it.
