Your album reviews are so unoriginal uninspired and boring. You’re clearly not doing this out of love for the art of music so why do this at all? You could use your talents to run a gossip blog something like shade room but you’re clearly not in the right field.

2/2 you’re quite miserable and it shows in your work, it being a “meh” at best. Time to get up and rethink some things. Find what actually inspires you!

Not a Lana fan but serious question: why are you doing this with Lana each single time? It’s been something I’ve noticed and as others have said, it doesn’t even read as something musically motivated but instead personal. And when every other modern major critic (even those that used to rate her low like guardian) agrees that this is her most complex and experimental album with inherent artistsic value, it comes off as very arbitrary to rate said album that low and not recognize that value at all. I encourage you to reconsider this and also encourage sputnikmusic to chose other staff reviewers for Lana Del Rey and not someone who actively dislikes her, it gives a very bad impression for your and the site’s overall objectivity and music reviews are generally more fun (and even educational to understand the album) when the person that does them actually likes the artist or is at least honest enough to concede credit where it is due.

Finally, a real question, welcome to the site btw

Thanks, I’ve read some genuinely fun and informative reviews here, most recently on the band psychedelic porn crumpets, where the love for the band shone through by the reviewer’s words and it was a very fun, even informative read. The op reviewer here has also done good work on other artists from what I could read but when it comes to LDR, they just don’t click at all.

johnny is a good writer but reviews are a problematic outlet for him because he writes in service of himself and not the music he reviews. this is why someone like sowing can be less impressive of a writer while still being a much better reviewer. not that it's necessarily an issue to dislike something but I also do know that staff writers claim dibs on reviewing new albums so that no other staff member covers them. which does make it pretty lame and self-serving to do this for one specific artist continually. it is also worth noting that there are several pieces of evidence linking him to the january 6th insurrection at the capitol building in Washington for which he has not once provided an alibi

Yo, i also saw John’s face in the smoke on 9/11. I remember cause he was saying something cryptic in Japanese and then Zeitgeist came out
|
| |
Weird, claiming that for an artist you’re not passionate about sounds tiring and I also can’t imagine that it does the site’s content any good on the long term if reviews slowly start sounding grumpy and passive aggressive, instead of thoughtful deep dives into each album’s beauty and craftsmanship.
also is the last sentence the colton humor others have mentioned or are you serious?
