Better do some Insomnium.
Trivium is really bad. I can't stand the fact that if I say that they suck, people tell me they are yet around the 20's. I can sing better, drum better and probably bass better than these Trivium guys. Does that make me the next wonderchild?

i think this is a pretty definitive metalcore album. Hits everything where it should be IMO, but maybe not as good as Ascendancy
When All Light Dies is one of the better metalcore songs I've ever heard. That, along with maybe Like Light to Flies, is one of Triviums best songs

This album and Ascendacy were the reasons i liked trivium... not for the 3rd album though. I guess i was into Heafy's screaming, though i understand how many found it annoying... it grew on me i guess, but i'm slowly moving away from this band as i keep hearing more and more of The Crusade..This Message Edited On 04.20.07

Heafy is a pretty crappy vocalist. This album is pretty bad. There were a few good
songs on the cruade (detonation, trread the floods, unrepentant) bt mos of it was
just okay. I really like ascendancy though for some reason, even though Heafy sucks
at screaming. I think the riffs made up for it a lot, and heafy's clean vocal arent that
bad in ascendancy.
Im not really a metal core fan, though some of it is okay....avenged sevenfold is
probably my favorite American band that's not from 20 years ago. (there are like 10
other bands, all from finland or sweden except one that are way better)

Ember to Inferno is still a favorite of mine on this cd... I'm pretty sure that was the first Trivium song i ever heard and i still love it.

It was a pretty good review, but i disagree, Trivium is one of my favorite bands and this album is pretty good for their first, all though Ascendancy is better.

I really used to love this album back in 2006, when I just loved this band. But now, seeing back to them, I realize how simplistic guitar riffs they have and how there are much better vocalists out there. Although I still give this album a listen or two every now and then when my music is on shuffle, It is not the same anymore. This album is good for getting people into "heavier music" but not good for those that know much better bands out there.
