I find the music 2.5-3 territory and lyrics songwriting vocals etc being like 2-2.5 so yeah.
Holistically I don’t think this offers anything I really want to return to so 2.2 feels pretty close for me
I’m also in general not a huge fan of this era of the band’s musical direction so it’s not entirely surprising. Figure 8 and Liar were best here for me

@Neek - YES, THANK YOU.
Seems like we usually share opinions on Paramore haha

@Neek - Eh, not bad but certainly not my favorite. Feels nitpicky but I wish the instrumentals matched Hayley's energy in the chorus more. Really liked the bridge though. Generally I felt like the second half was superior to the first half - kinda contradicting what a lot of people here seem to think.

Totally fair!! I think that and Big Man, Little Dignity are my faves from the first half (:
The others feel undercooked tbh

Awesome! Personally I feel like the run from You First to Crave is just *chef's kiss* PERFECTION. Can't remember the last time a Paramore slow song made me feel the same way Liar did too.
Big Man, Little Dignity was definitely a grower too.

Yeah man the back half is just mesmerizing!! Was caught off guard by the beauty. On my second listen now so we’ll see where things end up stacking (:

In a vacuum, this really isn't half bad. I like this era of the band more than the straight ahead pop punk they were doing when I was a kid. I find this direction they're headed in to be more mature and there's only so much development I can expect from a band like Paramore.

headed in to be more mature is an extremely generous way to describe someone whose lyrical chops are still in their pre-teen stage
"Relieved to say AL remains their worst"
probably the most delete your account take you've had since you said the killers covered shadowplay better than joy division or whatever bullshit

The lyrics are pretty boilerplate for sure. I just mean stylistically.

Johnny acting hurt when he knows full well that 2.2ing a Paramore album (esp one with “Crave” on it) is the greatest threat to our friendship yet
