Very bands have the ability to build into an album the way Katatonia do. First listen always comes with a thought of "aw man, magic has weakened, this isn't as good as previous albums" four or five listens later "yeah, this is brilliant"

No rational reason since I haven't heard this lol but as much as people call out City Burials I'd be really surprised if this album had something better than the whole Vanishers~Untrodden stretch because that's high-tier Katatonia on the right day for me. Happy to be proven wrong tho, for obvious reasons
