"a clear statement that Illmatic does not and will never encompass the entire body of work Nas has constructed"

Illmatic is almost always used as a measuring gauge. You can see plenty of "best since Illmatic" commentary on any new album he makes that's relatively good, and that kinda devalues/ignores the stuff he has accomplished. I think that's a fair statement to make.

Excited to check this out. Been a hot minute since I've really dug into a full Nas project. Amazing rapper but honestly album wise he's always been super hit or miss with me

Haven't read the review yet Mars, but thanks for making a thread at least. Now someone do one for Magic cuz that was the shit
Really enjoying this record, still prefer Magic due to the cohesiveness and consistency. Also production is better on that one.
First 4 tracks on this one are pretty much up there with anything he's done tho, fucking loving how Nas is at the top of the again game 30 years later

"Will he be cray enough to go for KD4?"
KDIII is probably a good place to end the series but I hope he keeps working with Hit-Boy forever. Their chemistry is amazing.

Considering one of the songs here is basically a tribute to their partnership, I gotta imagine they're gonna keep the ball rolling for the foreseeable future.
Now, whether or not he keeps up this pace in terms of releases, not sure. I got a feeling he's hungry to keep going though, especially considering the massive critical acclaim this is achieving.
