Conor really is just an insanely good songwriter and frontman. Smidley was every bit as good as Foxing, which is just incredible.

I’m pretty drunk but I think I remember him saying Table Rock Antichrist is his favorite song he’s ever written. Just food for thought.

Tho I disagree. In Poor Taste is far and away my favorite track here. It’s just as good as any of the best foxing songs imo

My gf and I were going nuts up front to In Poor Taste when he performed in Chicago to the point where I noticed Conor's fiance's mom was staring at us seemingly impressed by her soon to be son-in-law having such big fans (Conor introduced them during the show and shared that they were in Chicago dress shopping)

Table Rock Antichrist into In Poor Taste is the climax of the album imo

Smidley was just as good as Foxing, but an even BETTER experience due to small show setting. Bought a vinyl and I don't even have a record player just cus I felt like they deserved more

Already copped a vinyl at Foxing’s show in stl, but had to pick up a poster just to support. I’ve never been in a band that toured but I know it can’t be easy as a smaller band.

Best Conor Murphy album period

Table Rock Antichrist might be my favorite of his, but In Poor Taste is close.

@Sowing Nearer My God is too close to call with this I think. I do feel like this is more a continuation of Nearer My God. Draw Down the Moon went way more in the pop direction while this album really continued on the more experimental nature and stayed more "indie"

@Wildcard is he still selling the signed headshots? lol

This and NMG were close for a while, but this is more consistent in my opinion. And while I love the apocalyptic vibes of NMG, this thing just feels possessed and I love it.

Apocalyptic and possessed are perfect word choices for each album. You must be a music reviewer!

Really happy that the live show finally warmed me up to this. Conor opening the show with Here Comes The Devil was actually jaw dropping. The man's incredible voice in such a small setting at only a half capacity show was baffling and special.

Yes he was lol

I would definitely buy one but man it was too sexy. I didn’t want my gf to think I’m cheating.

And yes this most def feels like a continuation of NMG, totally agree, tho I still think I like NMG more. But I also love DDTM so it’s a win win for me. Absolutely love the direction(s) Conor is going with his music. All the respect in the world to him.

And I fully expected him to open with Farewell. Opening with Here Comes the Devil was definitely a jolt to the system. Incredible show.

We are on exactly the same page here.

It is crazy to me how far the man has come since I first saw him ~2014 at a small venue literally called “The Basement” opening for TWIABP. Was blown away from seeing Rory live for the first time and so excited to still be getting blown away by new material.

Rory is pretty played out at this point. I was so happy to see him not using Foxing hits as a crutch for his Smidley shows cus I definitely thought there was a possibility of that. Shows a lot of confidence and pride in the project.

So disrespectful. If I was at a Smidley show my only hope would be for them to play as many songs from this album as possible. If you want Foxing go to a Foxing show.

I do think it was all in good fun. There was a lot of banter between the crowd and the band. Eric was even there playing Tony Hawk lol

I don't frequent live shows anymore, but the whole "play ___!" thing always annoyed the living fuck out of me. Like let the band put on the show as they want to, they're the entertainers. But I'm glad to hear it was all good natured.

On the extremely rare occasion the band is taking requests I think its super cool. Other than that, it’s annoying as hell.

@wildcard the TV with Xbox/Tony Hawk on stage was a hilarious touch. “There are 2 rules! Someone must be playing Tony Hawk at all times during our set or else we stop. And please share and give everyone a turn!” Got a great video of the band performing and then the camera pans to my gf front row having her go at Tony.

Hysterical.

An “emo” artist not taking themselves too seriously is just what I need in life. I fucking love Conor.
