Hard agree, I still love their output but those early years were like nothing else. Leaps and bounds above the rest of the scene in songwriting, originality, and performance.

in terms of reinvention as well. the leap forward sonically between each of the first three albums gives them all a distinct identity and appeal within their discog in a way i dont think applies to anything else theyve done

Saw them last night and it was killer. They played The Prowler, Return to the Garden, and Circus Circus off this. The new songs definitely stand out as intricate, heavy and dense compared to their other material in the set, which I think added a cool dynamic
