I just started getting into Megadeth. Great band and great album. It takes a long while

to get into Dave Mustaine's vocals; he sounds... really weird. This may not be very

original, but he was the main reason it took so long for me to get into Megadeth.

(Especially when you hear him talk normally! He sounds like a normal human being

until he opens his mouth to sing!) Some of the lyrics on this album are incredible...

then some are just plain stupid. Ha. Dave's lyric-writing got better later on as the

instrumental work got less fancy. Ironic. Oh, and as a classical

music student, I must say I appreciate the beautiful harmonies on "Hangar 18". They're

awesome. There are also many other great musical moments on that album, but that

I think the solo of Tornado of Souls tops Hangar 18's harmonies, but they're still really enjoyable.

I think Hangar 18 is kinda overrated. It's an excellent song and the solos are awesome, but overall I like other songs more like aforementioned Tornado of Souls, Five Magics, and Take No Prisoners.

I am so glad this was the first Megadeth Album I listened to, because it got me hooked in an instant. A classic album, and one of the best ever.

I started thinking that along time ago...I find myself hating alot of James Hetfield's vocals now...I used to love Metallica but now I haven't listened to them for ever.

Megadeth is definetly better than slayer, I agree with the comments on tornado of souls, one of my personal favorites from them.

yes i like slayer but...there no near my favorite.. maybe top 30 bands...or something. megadeth is on the same level as metallica for me..but i think i like megadeth more since they didnt sell out..

As much as Metallica has been sucking nuts lately, in my opinion there has never been a band (including Megadeth) that has had 4 straight albums as good as Metallica's first four. In my opinion this album doesnt come close to Ride the Lightning, Metallica just did metal better than Megadeth back in the day.

ehh.. i think they have more catchy metal songs. but yes i agree metallicas first 4 albums were better then any of megadeths albums. thats why i consider metallica my most fav or megadeth. just that after the black album they just werent the same.
