I wish they had the original version of this album on Spotify because whatever version they have on there sounds like ass.

Yeah, they always replace the originals with remasters if they exist.

The remaster vocals sound so different too. I usually prefer remasters but not this time around.

I've said it a bunch, but every time I see that 4.6 I feel so happy.

A lot of it isn't even particularly challenging or technical, it's just catchy and fun to play. I kind of have trouble describing what makes the riffing and solo'ing so incredible on this but it clearly is. Very dynamic and constantly changing for starters.

The guitar playing IS technical by a lot of standards, especially for 1990, but it's doable. It's nothing like watching a Jeff Loomis solo and instantly realizing you're nowhere even near being able to play at that level.

Ha depressingly accurate take re. Loomis. I remember trying to learn one of the easy ones years ago (This Sacrament) and finding my fingers in open rebellion. Agreed on the leads here - no pushover (especially given how much personality was in the original performance) but the notes line up so naturally that it's relatively easy to take a stab at. Only got as far as Lucretia, might try and give that one a whirl again soon...
