What holds ya back from digging it more? The vocals or something else?

The vox are the weak point & yes I’m listening to the original recording.

The vox sucks even in the original. They just happen to suck even more in the remaster.

Nah they're ok on the original. Not great, but I mean it's thrash it doesn't require Dio-esque vox

For me the vox are an essential part of the great listening experience here, no snarling Dave vocals, no Megadeth.

they were never good vox but when everything sounds rougher they actually fit with the music and the aggression of it. scrub off all the grime and you get clean guitars and a dude with a stuffed nose yelling at you.

"no snarling Dave vocals, no Megadeth."

thank you. yeah he doesn't have a pretty voice but in the context of the music his vox are perfect. wouldn't be megadeth otherwise

You'd have to be a real ass to bag on a legendary album for a decent cover. It's like bagging on Killing for These Boots despite everything else being among the most groundbreaking material in the genre.

Covers tend to kill the consistency and vibe of an album for me. I find it hard to 5 albums with covers on them unless they're really, really good and/or suit the tone of the album really well.

The fact that this doesn't contain a cover is a big plus tbh

A lot of people would agree that I am "a real ass" to be honest (and that cover is far worse than "decent", same goes to These Booths).
