I am a total slut for this album and have been from the first 10 seconds. Honestly never been a huge fan of this band, like they’re one of those groups I’d consider perfectly aight. Hadn’t listened to any of the singles ahead of time and was just blown away. Love it

Yep. At first the lack of catchy melodies was a disappointment, but these songs... develop. Three great albums.

Still need to give it more listens but for now I am enjoying the second half the most - Velveteen and forward
Antisocialties has alvvays been my fave but the debut has consistently been growing with each listen too. So yeah 3 great albums definitely

Wild - tracks 1-4 are practically perfect to me, and it took me longer to connect to the last few songs.

Pressed and Fourth Figure are the only lulls for me too.

I swear when listening through this I heard the same song like five or six times.

Pressed isn’t in my favourites for sure, but the last 50 seconds of it are still so good.
Fourth Figure is a hidden track on both the vinyl and CD - streaming services don’t really allow for hidden tracks, so it just appears normal but it’s not an ‘officially’ tracklisted song.

And yeah, Tom Verlaine is really special. ‘I know you’ll be there in the rain, glowing like the first night’ breaks me every time.

Aaaahhh... that explains the less essential nature of Fourth Figure. Pomeranian Spinster is indeed an absolute highlight.

Pomeranian is amazing yes although it bugs me there's a riff that is familiar from someplace else. I'm very much on Johnnys page too, might end up overplaying some parts of it. But again that's happened to me with their other records as well, and in the end I ended up getting hooked by the whole of it
@Johnny I've had completely forgot about Makthaversan lol I only ever enjoyed a couple of songs by them but will check out latest album

Tom Verlaine and Belinda Says are my favorites here so far

I gotta say I only like the ending of Tom Verlaine. That last verse is really beautiful but don't care much for the first majority of it.
Velveteen is turning into one of my new favs

Really hope this trend of injecting v's into the name of bands/artists dies soon.

Isn't the reason so that Google searches are more accurate? If you search for Always or Churches, you aint getting the music.
Remember that indie band The Music? They were so hard to search for.
