love this after two listens, though i agree with whoever said the clean vocals at times veer just a liiittle too close to bands i'd never want counterparts to sound like

Re: the clean vox there were times I was worried about that but every time, in my opinion, they're employed so well and the album already has a more melodic and overtly emotional vibe to start that I think those moments always make sense and are always bolstered by very purposeful songwriting

Tl;Dr I agreed until I didn't

There is no way for me to be emotionally prepared for this album.

I've been talking my friends but they just don't feel it like I do. Singing along with thousands in the shed at Furnace Fest last weekend, talking with Brendan, crying in the fucking port-o-potty after finding out Kuma died. I never thought I'd be so emotionally invested in this band since I haven't listened all that much since TDBHAH but damn that album got me through some tough times. I know for a lot of folks this is just another great counterparts album but to me it feels like this band is fucking ascending right now.

Soil 2 overwhelmed me, the guitar in that song reaches stratospheric heights

'Brendan Murphy supplementing his deeply depressing lyrics with deeply unhinged Twitter rants.'

Wtf?! This has to be the highest avg I've seen here. I want to believe it's all hype from hardcore fans because I'm not ready for such a good album rn

The kind where it sounds like he'll kill himself if the album isn't well received which kinda makes this review sussy.

Started listening to this and sounds a lot like early Misery Signals, which is a great thing but I'm not seeing that huge avg ftm. I'm seeing a 4 incoming but who knows...
