I like these guys, but it’s so hard to get through any of their albums in a single sitting. Maybe it’ll click better with the right set and setting
Can’t stand Aaron West, though

I think the first Aaron West album absolute gold, but I also have some college nostalgia tied up in it. 2nd album is pretty good. I can totally see someone loathing both though.
As for TWY, I can easily spin their full albums but again it likely has so much nostalgia tied with it I can tolerate the overdramatics presented consistently in every song. Would likely be harder for me to get into them had I never heard them.

I think that Aaron West EP is the best of that material.

The new song, Year of the Vulture, for WWENXT is great, heavier and screamier.
I'd like an album like that please.

YotV sounds like it was templated as a metalcore track and remade with pop punk skin

Is the new song a Kanye reference?!
I have no idea how to feel about it. On one hand, it's not.....bad, totally competent. But on the other, I think it leans into a lot of aspects of the wonder years' sound that I don't really enjoy. I don't think they deal with straightforward aggression all that well. It really is a pop-punk metalcore song. Idk feels like a better version of what they were trying to do on a lot of sister cities, but that hardly means a lot to me

Well, the song is a one-off single for WWE so no surprise it is more on the "straightforward aggression" side. I like it for what it is, but don't expect the band to head in this direction.
I like the song though!

"Well, the song is a one-off single for WWE so no surprise it is more on the "straightforward aggression" side. I like it for what it is, but don't expect the band to head in this direction." I'm a bit bummed because they absolutely nailed that style change.
