Amusing that three of the absolute worst albums released this year were by bands my teenage self fawned over, that version of me would be heart-broken (Interpol and Muse are the others btw)

Enjoyed this, pretty much resigned at this point that TMV of old is not returning nor will be. I would have liked them to cut 4 songs, but the rest were good and had their moments. I could be biased due to my love for the Latin influences making a strong appearance.

The album is full of soul and smooth instrumentation. Imagine calling Cedric's voice "Terrible". It actually has room the breathe and is full of emotion.

Whip hand did suck but there are some incredible songs on their last album. Nothing here wowed me like Aegis, Empty Vessels, Vedamalady or Zed did.

For sure, there are still some great cuts from that album. This is just their pop record, it’s Mars Volta from a sippy cup. it’ll bring in casual listeners and piss off everyone that wants them to be the proggiest band in 2022, which I wouldn’t mind personally, but I also don’t mind no unlistenable “ambient” sections or 3 minutes of birds chirping through a kooky filter.
