Seeing them this monday. Ignorantly hoping they’ll play lots of old stuff as well.
Might be the last time I check these guys out live. If I didnt already have tickets 2 years already I wouldn’t even have gone anymore.

Deep Blue and Ire are still in my top 10 most played albums in the last ten years, largely because I was driving back and forth across the country and I needed a solid dose of chugging toughguy metal to keep me awake. There were two good songs on Reverence and somehow, with a grimace, it's still a part of my driving playlists. I deleted this album after listening to two singles and didn't even bother listening to the rest. It's like when your favorite author dies and you hate the co-author who takes over writing their world. What I heard was irredeemable trash and it makes me sad.

If you're feeling let down by this, I highly recommend the new Bleed from Within album. Sounds like golden-era Parkway.

Even as a huge fan of the band, I cannot defend this. This album is just not it. As mid as mid can be.

Glad this is being torn to shreds.

As someone who thinks Ire is an excellent record, there are a number of also excellent songs on this record. I feel some of the choruses in particular have too many helpings of cheese for my tastes, but I was surprised by the experiments Parkway take here. Winston's vocals and lyrics occasionally make me cringe, but overall I find the band put in strong performances. If this is what passes for radio metal these days, I think Parkway are spotty but pull it off better than their contemporaries.
