Miro has been stuck in my head for weeks. that bridge is undeniable

I'll give the Baltimore people credit because they mostly knew Insomniatic Meat but yeah, A Piece of Mind might as well have been a new song for most of the crowd.
I've always been a huge fan of Miro too and felt like it would've been on an NHL or Madden soundtrack growing up. Ravenous has also always been a favorite off here.
Jay, you're right about this being jarring when it came out. I didn't get into Finch until 2005 but it was WIITB that I became obsessed with and listened to non-stop. Took me forever to finally buy this album because all the iTunes previews sounded weird as hell and I didn't like how Nate's voice was mixed in a lot of the songs, like Brother Bleed Brother. I ended up loving about half the songs at the time but it wasn't what 13 year old me was expecting.

They've been playing new songs live so at the very least we know they're active and cooking.

Huh! that was unexpected. With all the drama they roused with that phantasma album I thought they were gone for good...
Still, I won't be expecting much out of this reunion until I actually get their new materials in my hand. Also not sure whether they still have it in them to produce another eccentric album like SHTS, sadly

I loved one of the new songs they played. It's not as eccentric as some of what's going on here but it sounded fantastic live.

Awesome!! I personally consider Nate to be one of the best vocalists in this scene, so I'd always love more materials from him. I just hope they actually come through with an album this time

I love this album to death but I have to admit Bitemarks is pretty bad. Maybe could have left that one on the cutting room floor

Wiiiiiiiild. I love Bitemarks.
On a side note, I've had Hopeless Host stuck in my head all day for some reason. The second half of it is up there with the peak of what the band has written.

Yeah bitemarks is definitely the weaker cut, especially the chorus. but I still love the brooding ambience it creates.
pretty sure bitemarks was some of the first matrials they worked on for SHTS, maybe that's why they kept it in

Also, the switch-up from melodic bitemarks to batshit-insanity of casket pays off for me personally

[2] art I like you but some of your takes are beyond wack
Insomniac Meat, Piece of Mind, Ink, Reduced, and Bitemarks are probably my top 5.

Nobody ever talks about Dreams of Psilocybin, which I think is probably my favorite song here. Chorus is catchy as hell and the outro is such a perfect way to end the album.

Psilocybin rules. Honestly no weak spots on here besides maybe A Man Alone, which isn't a bad song but definitely less awesome than the rest.

Agree that Fireflies is the weakest. A Man Alone was an early standout here for me.

Fireflies and A Man Alone are great. Tbh, I don’t think there are any obvious weak points here.
