good review. i agree with the band being generic, and the fact that there aren't any really stand out tracks. i do like face down and in fate's hands.

i like this album. there's just something about it that makes it stand out to me. this is obviously a love or hate band, though.

Are pop-punk bands just trying to make the most obscure, pretentious names that they can or something? What the heck?

you know it's funny, you'd think that people who are more into music would tend to be less close-minded. Another quirk of the universe, I guess.

Are pop-punk bands just trying to make the most obscure, pretentious names that they can or something? What the heck?

And, whats in a name? "Its 100 percent completely arbitrary," laughs singer Ronnie Winter. "When we started the band, we only cared about having a good time and writing good songs far more than coming up with some symbolic, incredibly intelligent name."

"I think its funny when bands scramble their brains to try and come up with some unique, untouchable band name," adds guitarist Elias Reidy. "Why waste time thinking of something when we could be concentrating on music instead? The locals loved it, so we went with it."

You misunderstand me. I wouldn't like the band if they had a good name. Think about this, though. It's much easier to remember a band with an easy, short name than a band with a horribly obscure name. I'm wondering why they would do such a thing. If they didn't care about a name, why didn't they just pick something simple, instead of this...thing?

I wasn't talking about you specifically or anything with the close minded part, if that's what you think, I just happened to answer your post at the same time... :/

Yeah as it is a bit hard to not say a bands name who is on a major label and has one of the hottest singles of the year out on solid rotation.

Not all of us listen to the radio as much as others, lumparuparmp. I haven't been listening to it lately, but what's odd is that I have NEVER heard of this band at ALL till now, and if I had heard of it, I didn't remember it.This Message Edited On 10.26.06

There is something about this CD I love. It is a really good CD, if your into the genre, but I heard the guys sing live, and not even close the CD, guy sounded horrible. But the CD is worth the money.

this is a generic album but its still cool. Im from jacksonville (their hometown) and ive been listening to these guys since before they got signed and they had some better songs. the name was really just something to call their group of musicians. they use to play in their garage for like a year and a half just for fun and never played a live show the whole time. they just were saying stupid shit pretty much and thats how they got their name. a friend heard them and told them they should play a show so they did and jacksonville loved them from then on. as for shows go. ive seen some shows in diffrent cities and i have to say, these guys just dont put as good of a show on in a diffrent city as they do in jacksonville. i think part of it is that they know alot of people in jacksonvilles crowd and its more fun here that they get to hang out with the home town fans and watch the bands before them play. its much more chill here.

I liked the album and the guys play good pop punk (with highly annoying scream though) but they don't have anything that makes them special.

I still gave it a "3/Good" though.
